Motor Sports

Motor Sports, like the Formula 1 and V8 Supercars, are popular motor sports in Australia.

V8 Supercars is a touring car racing category sanctioned by the International Series under Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile.

V8 Supercar events take place in most states of Australia and the Northern Territory. Rounds are also held in New Zealand, Bahrain and Abu Dhabi. It is reported that V8 Supercars races have drawn crowds of over 250,000 spectators.

The most popular V8 Supercars event is the Bathurst 1000, simply known as the "Great Race". It is a 1000 km test of drivers, teams and machines held at the Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales.

It is conducted over 161 laps, on a track that features two long straights that contrast with a tight section of fast blind corners across the top of the mountain.

Meanwhile, Australia has hosted a round of the Formula 1 championship race since 1985. For the first 10 years, the Australian Grand Prix was held at Adelaide as the last round of the racing championships. Then in 1996, the Australian Grand Prix moved to Melbourne.

Though both V8 supercars and Formula 1 racing are not year round sporting events, they still offer plenty of betting action during the season.

Many who are new to motorsports betting think that opportunities are limited to picking the eventual winner of each race (or maybe the runner up). They are wrong. In fact motorsports is very intricate and there are a wide range of bets that can be made.
